The weather did a one-eighty on us this week, but even while I am scorning the loss of days in the sun and on the water I am looking forward to the coming months.  In fact, I think Christmas decorating is calling my name from around the corner…

Been spending my days focusing on developing the new website and business for Velour lately, but I have a few other personal projects up my sleeve as well.

One of the biggest projects I am excited about is a new blog I am starting, “Scene Sister.”  Focusing on urban-life in Utah, my new blog will give me a place to post all those crazy music links, food reviews, photos of cool things I find, interviews with local business owners and artists I want to feature and you know…all those things most of my friends don’t care as much about but I like to flaunt around.  Although I will try to maintain this blog…I doubt it will happen.  As many of you know, I make a living doing things freelance-style, and blogging is another supplement to how I will be operating myself and my business.   It’s time I start learning how to market myself and the networks of people I have built up, and find ways to support our community the ways I see fit, instead of getting pissed when others don’t do it justice.

Right now I am building up content and working with a few different artists to come up with the look and feel of the site…and so far I am SO pumped on it!  (Picture a drawing of my afro’d silhouette as the icon!)  It’s been many years and many roads leading me here but I really feel like this is an opportunity I can’t pass up taking the time  to invest in.  I would so love your support getting the word out about Scene Sister when the time comes, and I hope we can continue or discussions about love and life on our personal blogs.

To help me keep my reading centralized, would you mind adding scenesister at gmail.com to your reader list? (for those who have private blogs)  I will maintain a new Google Reader so that I can see all of your beautiful faces there.

You, my friends, are the best.  I love you so much.  Thank you for your support throughout the years while I have been discovering my Bohemian self and seeking out ways to make a living doing the things I love and supporting the people I believe in.

The burdens we acquire in this life are often tragic and beyond our understanding.   However, with a trust in the Lord, we can overcome the pains of mortality and go on to continue living full and happy lives on earth, becoming more like the Savior along the way.

Forgiveness is not always easy to come by, but it is something I have learned has been the key to my happiness and relief.  I know that I have far to go before I will completely understand how to forgive, but there are times where the light shines brightly and provides me the opportunity to feel the burden of pain lifted from my chest.

I hope by watching this video that you can also feel the brightness of the light of Forgiveness, and moved to seek out a closer relationship with our Savior.
